How to do language education in an MTB-MLE program

A good language education program starts with students' first language (L1).  it is important to build a strong foundation in oral and written L1 before introducing a second language.  While continuing to build L1 skills, the program next introduces oral L2 language learning.  After students start feeling confident in hearing and speaking the L2, literacy in L2 is introduced.  Throughout the program, students continue to learn in both languages and there is constant bridging between L1 and L2.
